OPTIMAL FINGERING PRESCRIPTION:Left Long F Key (Standard Best Practice)
KEYWORK CONFIGURATION:

L.H.: 1-2-3 + Left pinky Long F lever | R.H.: 1-2-3 closed

ACOUSTIC & MECHANICAL RATIONALE:

When transitioning with D, Db, or C without adjacent Eb, unconditionally use Left-F. Left-F opens the primary tone hole for a round, resonant, stable tone without finger sliding.

Rule 1: Fork on Eb

Whenever Eb is adjacent, the left pinky cannot jump to Long-F. Unconditionally choose Forked-F.

Rule 2: Left-F with C/D

Moving across D, Db, or C to F, Left-F guarantees the smoothest legato and avoids clumsy pinky slides.

Rule 3: Eb Resonance

Forked-F has higher acoustic impedance. Professional players always hold the right pinky Eb key to fill out tone.
